Case Study
A healthcare logistics innovation team was exploring how to better support temperature-sensitive shipments. I joined during concept testing to help simplify a complicated opportunity space, shape the research approach, and turn what we learned into clearer product direction.

The Complexity
One shipment could trigger very different consequences.
A delayed medication may be replaceable. A patient specimen may not be.
Packaging, temperature, carrier constraints, monitoring, documentation, and patient impact all changed what a successful shipment looked like.

A single shipment could combine carrier status, timing, temperature requirements, contents, risk, and documentation.
Framing the Opportunity
We turned a broad opportunity space into four testable ideas.
Early research surfaced overlapping needs across planning, visibility, response, and documentation.
We grouped them into four lightweight concepts so 14 decision-makers across pharmacies, labs, healthcare systems, and logistics could react to the underlying value rather than polished UI.
Plan — anticipate risk
See — understand what is happening
Act — respond to problems
Prove — document what happened
I helped design the concepts and research approach, including the discussion guide, candidate screening, interview probes, and synthesis. I focused primarily on planning and visibility while working closely with the lead researcher throughout testing.

The Direction
The opportunity was a path, not one giant product.
The research pointed toward a clearer path:
Anticipate risk
Reduce problems before shipments move.
Understand impact
Connect shipment information to operational consequences.
Support action
Help teams respond when prevention is not enough.
I worked closely with the team to turn weeks of research into a concise recommendation for leadership, with much of my focus on simplifying the findings without losing the complexity behind them.
The final readout was praised for making a difficult product space easier to understand.
